The Gospel Is Not All That Matters

1st Timothy 6:20-21, “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.”

Our text passage of inspired Scripture warns that some foolish people have erred from the Christian faith because of 'SCIENCE FALSELY SO CALLED.'

Some obvious examples of FALSE SCIENCE would include the fallacy of Evolution, flat earth fraud, the lie that the earth is stationary and doesn't move through space, the Global Warming hoax, the mythical 'chemical imbalance of the brain' medical scam, Young Earth Creationism fallacy (which includes the lie that dinosaurs lived 5,000 years ago), et cetera.

Dear reader, it matters what we believe! I recently posted a meme on Facebook about the foolishness of a flat earth. One of my regular visitors commented that the Gospel is all that matters. I kindly rebuked him for saying that, because what he said is untrue. The Gospel is not all that matters. It matters how you live. Lost people won't listen to you if you're a lying thief and a dishonest person. So, your character matters doesn't it? Also, if you think that dinosaurs lived 5,000 years ago, an intelligent person very likely won't respect your opinion enough to listen to you share the saving Gospel of grace.

I humbly disagree that the Gospel is all that matters. I learned from Pastor Max Younce (1935-2023) the danger of fools who teach Young Earth Creationism, which requires that such a person also believe dinosaurs lived 5,000 years ago. Intelligent unsaved people may go to Hell forever, because they refused to listen to someone share the Gospel who was foolish enough to think that dinosaurs roamed the earth 5,000 years ago! The same principle is true for those fools who think that the earth is flat, or that the earth is stationary and doesn't move through space. It matters what we believe!

There is strong biblical support for a 'Gap Principle' between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. As Pastor Max D. Younce often said regarding an Old Earth: “It's not a 'theory,' it's a biblical principle.” In his helpful book titled, 'The Truth About Evolution; Or, Don't Let Satan Make A Monkey Out Of You,' Dr. Younce explains 'The Remodeling' in chapter 11. The Bible outright tells us that the earth is old. Psalms 102:25, “Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.” The psalmist David specifically distinguishes that age of the earth. David penned these words approximately 1,000 BC.

As God's children everything matters! Our testimony matters. The way we dress and talk matters. It matters if we honestly pay our bills on time, and if we labor honestly at work. The unsaved world is always watching. The lost world sees the infighting, hatred and bickering among professed Christians today. I speak this to our shame as Baptists! I have never seen such a woeful lack of love and compassion, as I have over the past 20 years in Baptist churches and the toxic religious colleges that train their incompetent pastors.

Sadly, Pensacola Christian College (PCC) is a prime example of a horribly toxic religious school that operates more like a Satanic cult than a Christian organization. I had attended their Campus Church for a few months in 2021, but was compelled to leave after being repeatedly abused, mistreated and condemned by their ungodly senior pastor, Jeff Redlin. PCC's leaders have huge egos, falling all over themselves like wicked Hollywood with self-praise, self-glorification and self-honor which they neither deserve nor have earned. At terrible superficial religious places like PCC, the cult system always comes first but individual people do not matter. There is no godly love at PCC, just a prisonhouse of strict rules and policies. PCC is driving lost people further away from the Gospel of Jesus Christ by their formalism and lack of compassion for sinners. Religious snobbery never won anybody to the meek and lowly Savior.

Although sharing the Gospel is the most important thing in a believer's life (Luke 8:15), it certainly is not all that matters. Let us all be careful about adopting the statements of others who are unlearned and ignorant of the inspired Holy Scriptures. I encourage you dear reader to always think objectively, to question everything with the inspired Word of God (1st John 4:1; John 5:39; Acts 17:10-11). Thank you for reading my humble blog. Jesus is precious!!!
