What Does It Mean The Word Of God Became Flesh?

John 1:1-3, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. ...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

If you have been a Christian in a solid Bible-believing church for some time, or are familiar with the inspired King James Bible, then you have learned that Jesus is THE WORD OF GOD. Revelation 19:13, “And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.In John 1:14 of our text passage of Scripture, we read that THE WORD BECAME FLESH. What does this mean? 1st Timothy 3:16, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Dear reader, I will explain this truth as simple as I know how. When Jesus came to this earth, His voice was God speaking to the world. Likewise, when we read the inspired Word of God (which is clearly the King James Bible today), God is speaking to the world. This is my understanding of these Bible passages.

When you met Jesus on earth, you literally met God. Jesus walked this earth as the Godhead incarnate (in the flesh) What saith the Scripture? Colossians 2:9, “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” Founder of The Sword Of The Lord, Evangelist John R. Rice (1895-1980) used to wisely say that: Jesus and the Bible are twins.” I like that. But I used to wonder what that meant. I understand how a written Book (the Holy Bible) can be called THE WORD OF GOD. But it didn't make sense to me how a human being (Jesus) can also be called THE WORD OF GOD. But then I remembered biblically that Jesus is almighty God. When Jesus speaks, it is the same as if God the Father or God the Holy Spirit speaks. So whether you are reading the King James Bible, or if you had met Jesus 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem, you are listening to God. I do not claim to understand the profound depth of John 1:1-3 and 14, but I do know that Jesus is God, and when He speaks, God is saying something.

The Catholic Pope is said to speak “ex cathedra” (in place of God). No, the Pope does not speak as God, the Pope is a dope and he has no hope. Sorry, I heard that many years ago and it stuck. Really, any man who thinks that he speaks on behalf of God is a dope, and how can he have any hope believing such arrogant foolishness? Kindly said to Catholics, the Pope is a fool who thinks he speaks for God, but no human being speaks on behalf of God. God's Word alone speaks for God, which is why it is properly called THE WORD OF GOD.

What saith the Scripture? Hebrews 1:1-2, “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;” Ellen G. White (idolized prophetess of Seventh-Day Adventism) is an imposter and a lying fool. She claimed to have seen over 2,100 visions from God, alleging that God appointed her as an end times prophetess to confirm His Bible prophecies. That is the Devil talking through Miss White! She ain't seen nothing, except delusions of her own mind.

As we just read in Hebrews 1:1-2, God ONLY speaks through His Son, the Word of God, to the world in these last days. That is why Jesus commanded us in John 5:39, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. The most stupid and dangerous thing that you will ever do, is to base your beliefs upon the word of some human being, instead of the written Words of God in the Holy Bible. Romans 4:3, “For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.”

Even Christ Himself in Matthew 4:1-10, when tempted by the Devil, quoted the Scriptures all three times to defeat the Devil. What makes you and I think that we can escape Satan without the Word of God? Friend, you and I had better get grounded in the Scriptures. Psalms 119:11, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. That means memorizing some Bible verses, and familiarizing yourself with the Bible. Every Christian ought to be able to share their faith with another person from the Bible, and take them to all the Scripture passages to show what and why you believe as you do. If not, how do you know what you even believe?

When Jesus spoke, God was speaking. When you read the Bible, God is speaking. If you want to hear God speak, read the Bible out loud. I am not saying you are God, obviously, but I am saying that the Bible speaks for God. That is why it is called “God's Word.” Jesus is the Almighty (Revelation 1:8), not merely a god” as the Jehovah's Witnesses errantly teach in their perverse New World Translation (NWT) in John 1:1, but God almighty. Jesus claimed to be God in John 8:58, John 10:33 and John 14:1.
