The inspired Holy Bible teaches the saints to avoid foolish and unlearned questions. I humbly think it is silly for anyone to even suggest that it is possible to deny the existence of Heaven, while still trusting in Jesus Christ for eternal life. I've never met anyone like that. I get these type of hypothetical questions all the time from social media dwellers, debating and arguing needlessly, which sheds more heat than light.
However, I have met plenty of heretics who claimed to trust in Jesus Christ for salvation, but they denied that a burning Hell with fire exists. Miss Renee Roland is one such false teacher on YouTube. She has a massive following of tens of thousands of people, who praise her denial that Christ rejecting sinners will burn in Hell forever. She unfortunately agree (whether she admits it or not) with the heretical Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh-Day Adventists.

I have a serious problem with someone who claims to believe in a free grace Gospel, while at the same time denying that people who die in their sins will burn in Hell, as the Bible plainly teaches in John 8:24; Revelation 14:11, 20:11-15 and 21:8. I mean, if there's no worry about burning in a literal Hell forever and ever, then what's there to be afraid of? It just makes no sense. You need to know why you need a Savior, and what you're being saved from. We are all guilty sinners who deserve to burn in Hell. Thankfully, Jesus suffered in our place on the cross 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem, so that God the Father could freely offer us eternal life, if we'll simple take it by faith in Jesus (Philippians 3:9).
I am not God, so it is not my place to judge every doctrine to analyze who is saved or lost. We know that no one is saved who has the wrong Jesus (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). That is, no one is born again who openly denies Jesus' deity, virgin birth, blood sacrifice, Godhead (Trinity), Jesus' sinless life; Christ's death on the cross, burial and physical bodily resurrection 72 hours later from the dead. These are fundamental Bible doctrines, that is, the Doctrine of Christ.
In contrast, the timing of the Rapture, age of the earth, flat or round earth debate, Geocentricity debate, et cetera, are not essential to salvation. That being said, I have sincerely struggled over the years concerning someone who denies Heaven or Hell, whether they are truly a born again believer or just playing church. At a minimum, something is VERY wrong with their belief system. I do know that JW's and SDA's preach a counterfeit gospel, based on self-righteous works. Both religious cults adhere to the Satanic deception of repenting of your sins and Lordship Salvation, just like John MacArthur, who just died in 2025 and I sadly fear went to Hell forever. If Dr. MacArthur is in Heaven, then the Apostle Paul (and God since it is His inspired Word) lied in Galatians 1:6-7 when the Bible warns that there has always been only ONE GOSPEL (cf. Acts 10:43).
I have serious doubts about anyone's alleged faith in Christ who either denies the existence of Hell, or believes in Hell but doesn't think Christ rejecters go there forever. Since the day that I thankfully got saved 45 years ago as a 13 year old teenager in Chicago, I have never once questioned or doubted the existence of a literal Heaven and Hell. The King James Bible is verbally and plenary inspired, perfect, incorruptible, infallible, innerant, preserved and true!
I simply do not know the answer to the question: “Does A Person Have To Believe In Hell To Be Saved?” That all being said, if push came to shove and I was forced to give an answer, I would say, "Yes," a person CAN be saved who denies the reality of Hell, but again, I really don't know. I am just speculating, I could be very wrong. I agree with Evangelist John R. Rice (1895-1980) who said, “Where the Bible is silent, we ought to be silent.” I think he is right.

When we think about God's invitation to salvation (i.e., to trust the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ crucified, buried and risen), we really don't know 100% if any of it is true. Think about this friend. That is why John 1:12 teaches to “believe on his name” (i.e., the precious name of Jesus), because we've never actually met the Savior (1st Peter 1:7). 1st Peter 1:8-9, “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” I LOVE THAT!!! The Bible expressly admits that we can only believe in a Savior whom we cannot see! And that's perfectly acceptable with God and okay to do dear reader. All we can do is trust on THE NAME OF JESUS!!!
Acts 4:10-12 plainly teaches that “there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12b). Salvation is not found in any religion; but rather, in the precious name of a person—Jesus Christ! All we have to trust in is HIS NAME.
The whole story of Jesus Christ could be an elaborate hoax of history for all we know! That is what trust (faith, reliance) is all about—believing that the story is true! What if dear reader? What if THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD is actually true? Are you prepared to MEET THY MAKER? Have you been BORN AGAIN friend???
That is why Romans 10:11 promises if we believe on Jesus, we won't be ashamed. That is, we won't be disappointed because Jesus won't let us down. Romans 10:11 has nothing to do with you or me being ashamed of Jesus; but rather, of Him failing to keep His promise to "SAVE THEM THAT BELIEVE" (1st Corinthians 1:21b; John 6:47). So, whether Hell or Heaven exists equally requires faith in the Holy Bible. It is my humble opinion that if someone has JUST ENOUGH faith in the truth of the Gospel to put their entire trust (reliance) in Jesus' death on the cross for their sins, His burial and bodily resurrection from the dead three days later, they are forever saved.
So, when we ask if someone must "believe" in Hell to be saved, the truth is that NO ONE knows for sure if there is a burning Hell, or a Heaven with streets of transparent gold. All we can do is take God at His written Word in the Scripture and HOPE that it's all true. That is why Titus 1:2 speaks about the "hope of eternal life." I don't hope I will someday have eternal life; but rather, I have THE HOPE of eternal life, through faith in Jesus Christ my Savior.
I've placed all my trust (all my apples so to speak) into one basket, and that basket is the only begotten Son of God, Jesus, the Christ (John 20:31). If I go to Hell someday, it will be all Jesus' fault, because I am trusting in Him 100% by virtue of what He did through Calvary's cross to pay for my sins. Romans 10:11 assures me that I won't be ashamed (disappointed) in the future, because God keeps all of His promises.
Like the misled Hellbound JW's and SDA's, Renee Roland rationalizes that a loving God couldn't actually burn sinners in Hell. But that is human reasoning, not the truth of God's Word (Romans 1:25). We see shocking horrible, inexplicable, unimaginable suffering, atrocities and horrors in this earthly life, so why should it be so difficult to accept the truth that there is a literal Hell? If God allows suffering in this lifetime, He also will allow and inflict suffering in the afterlife!

And to clarify, I like Miss Renee and she is my friend on Facebook, because I separate my personal feelings from my Bible preaching. She is wrong on the topics of both Hell, and also for denying the eternal sonship of Jesus (which John MacArthur also denies). I tell you Scripturally, Jesus Christ was ALWAYS the eternal Son of God (Hebrews 13:8). That is why we read the plural pronouns "us" and "our" in Genesis 1:26, referring to the Godhead, when the universe was created by the Word of God (2nd Peter 3:5). Jesus didn't become the Son of God in His incarnate form; the Son of God became flesh (John 1:1-3, 14).
Kindly said, it's just my humble opinion, but I think it is a very foolish question for anyone to question the reality of the literal places of Heaven and Hell. Skeptics are silly to delve into make-believe and science-fiction to challenge the Holy Bible. The inspired Word of God admonishes the saints to AVOID unlearned questions which have no obvious answer. For ages now the stupid question has been asked by skeptics and jokers: "If God can do anything, how big of a rock can God lift?" The answer is any size rock, even the impossible! There is NOTHING too hard for the Lord to do (Genesis 18:14).
I was talking with my wife recently about a strange concept. We know Scripturally that all babies go to Heaven, as did King David's baby, who died as part of David's chastisement from God for murdering Uriah and stealing his wife. Last I checked, over the past 50 years worldwide there have been roughly 3,000,000,000 abortions!!! That is shameful. Yet, that means ALL of those precious human babies are now in Heaven forever.

Now, consider that Jesus plainly taught MOST people die in their sins (the highway to Hell) and go to the Lake of Fire forever (Matthew 7:13-15; Luke 13:23-24). So then, in a perverted way of thinking, abortion is the best thing that ever happened to MOST of those 3 billion babies, because if they hadn't been aborted, MOST of them would have burned in Hell for all eternity without end; without rest day nor night forever with the Beast and False Prophet (Revelation 14:11). That alarming paradox will mess with your head!
I simply cannot explain it. Those truths blow my mind and I cannot reconcile them. I just know that abortion is premeditated first-degree murder, and it should be outlawed (Exodus 20:13). Two wrongs never make something right. Just because 100% of aborted children go to Heaven doesn't make murder right! I am not God, so it's not my place to figure all this stuff out, THANK GOD! My job, and yours, is simply to "HAVE FAITH IN GOD" (Mark 11:22b).

I'll leave ruling over the universe and the earth to the good LORD. Psalms 47:8, "God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness." Jesus exhorts all saints in John 16:33b to "BE OF GOOD CHEER," knowing that He has overcome sin and the world, and through faith in Christ alone we have eternal life. John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”
I think there is a big difference between a skeptic who blatantly DENIES the existence of a burning Hell where all Christ-rejecters spend eternity suffering in torment, versus someone who is sincerely not sure if Hell is real. I think the latter can be saved if they'll simply exercise what little faith they have in the Gospel of Jesus Christ crucified, buried and risen the third day (1st Thessalonians 4:14). To the former group I ask, if you are certain that Hell does not exist, then why pray tell me do you need a Savior? What would be the purpose?
It is absolutely ridiculous for anyone to question the Word of God concerning the reality of Hell. What saith the Scripture? Psalms 9:17, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” Now, if Hell doesn't exist and there is only the grave when we die, then this inspired passage of Scripture makes zero sense! If death leads only to the graveyard, then what would be the point of God turning the wicked and all who forget Him into Hell? Clearly the wicked and the righteous DO NOT go to the same place in the afterlife.
