Water Baptism Is Not Required To Go To Heaven

1st Corinthians 1:17-18, “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

The Apostle Paul said that Jesus did not send him to baptize anyone, but to preach the Gospel. Clearly, water baptism is not necessary to be saved, otherwise Paul never would have made such a bold statement. Faith in the Gospel saves, nothing else is required! Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

I explained the preceding truth to an arrogant Church of Christ minister years ago. He disagreed with the Bible and me, insisting that although Paul did not baptize, his disciples did. I don't recall reading anywhere in the Bible that Paul had disciples. In much of Paul's missionary journeys he is alone, preaching the Gospel by himself. It is wickedness and blatant false teaching for anyone to claim that Paul water baptized people to get them saved. I am so sick of the rotten and corrupt Church of Christ. Many good people, like Lester Holt, on the news, are members of the Satanic Church of Christ! Friend, you cannot be born-again as long as you think being baptized with water is necessary to get to Heaven. No one is truly saved who trusts in Christ plus the baptistery!!!

Another Satanic false religion is the Lutheran church. Martin Luther (1883-1546) was a wicked man. Luther did much good, and was a key figure in giving us our King James Bible today, translating a Latin version of the Bible. Albeit, the man was a lifelong heretic! We read in Matthew 7:21-23 about a group of people who did “MANY WONDERFUL WORKS” and even called Jesus, “LORD, LORD,” but the Lord Himself said He did not know them as His sheep! You don't get saved by getting water baptized. You don't get saved by doing many good works. You don't get saved by turning away from your sinful bad habits. You don't get saved by living the Christian life. You get saved only by doing God's will, which according to John 6:40 is to BELIEVE ON JESUS CHRIST!!!

The repentant thief on the cross didn't get baptized with water. Yet Jesus promised that they would be together in paradise that same day. No one in the Old Testament ever got saved. We read in Genesis 15:6 that Abram (Abraham) was saved by faith alone. In the Epistle of 1st John, the writer says that the purpose of his epistle is so that the individual believer may KNOW that we have eternal life (1st John 5:13). Yet, John never once mentions anything about water baptism or turning away from sins to be saved. If these things were mandatory to get to Heaven, no doubt John would have emphasized their importance here, but he doesn't even mention them. Folks, we've got a bunch of lying pastors in pulpits today, who simply don't know what they are doing theologically.

You DON'T need to get water baptized to go to Heaven. So why get baptized at all then? Baptism is one's public profession of faith, which represents the Gospel. Going down under the water pictures Christ's death on the cross, and burial. Rising up from the water pictures Christ's miraculous resurrection from the dead. Romans 6:4, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Notice the word “LIKE.” Baptism is symbolic of what Christ did on the cross, His burial, and Jesus' subsequent bodily resurrection from the dead three days later (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). Baptism is an outward snapshot of what has happened inwardly in the believer's soul.

Again in the Gospel of John we don't find any requirement to be water baptized to have eternal life. The word “BELIEVE” is mentioned 85 times in the Gospel of John. John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” The first step of obedience for a new Christian should be water baptism. I don't like when these Baptist churches delay baptizing people for 6 months, as does the Harvest Baptist Church on Guam. That is not the way they did it in the Bible. On the day of Pentecost 3,000 people got saved, and they were all water baptized that very same day (Acts 2:41-43). I am not diminishing the importance of believer's baptism, I am simply saying that it is not required for salvation.

Tragically, all of the pseudo-Christian religious cults DO require water baptism to get to Heaven (e.g., Mormons, Seventh-Day Adventists, Lutherans, Roman Catholics, Church of Christ, Anglican, Church of England, Episcopalian, Jehovah's Witnesses, et cetera). These are all Satanic false religions, which preach another gospel that cannot produce the new birth by the Holy Spirit of God (John 1:12-13). Getting dunked in a church baptistery no more makes someone a believer, than walking into a garage makes someone an automobile! The only way to have eternal life is by resting completely (by faith) in the finished redemptive work of the only begotten Son of God, Jesus, the Christ. What a beautiful Savior!!!
